About ListyMama

Hello YOU and Welcome to Listymama,
This is a wonderful place where you will follow me as we journey through your children's early years and all the fun (and tough times) that come with it. Every week we will tackle a new theme and you will be able to access the LISTYMAMA WEEKLY LIST. This weekly checklist will help you with anything from packing your bags for the arrival of baby all the way to baby proofing your home to prevent injury and create safe place for baby to explore and toddlers to play. I would like to think I come with an array of experience lol. I bring my Bachelors in Child Studies from Concordia University, years of working with Calgarian families on a daily basis and the experiences of my own growing family to the table (or computer screen).
I understand the challenges and difficulties parents face and my goal is to provide the research recommendations and reassurance that will empower parents. By bridging my experience and education I feel like I am able  to create a place for parents to come to daily. You can check in and find something valuable, entertaining and perhaps helpful! A place to connect, ask, learn and grow.
During my first maternity leave, I had created a very successful parent and tot meet-up group with over 300 members in the south west quadrant of Calgary alone. The demand for parent get together's accompanied by the need to connect with other parents and resources was the very start of an even bigger idea. After holding numerous parent workshops and connecting with moms and dads I was able to understand what they really want... A place to come to, connect, network, exchange funny stories, talk about the tough days and maybe get a checklist to help them deal with something as simple as a purposeful playroom.
Now on my second maternity leave, I don't have all the time I had to get out and do the work I did taking care of my 2 boys and my step son. So why not reach an even bigger network of parents! why not share with even more parents. I may be limited to my living room but I can still share all the same knowledge in a fun and bigger forum!

I look forward to sharing,
xx
